The 17th Annual Running of the Santas
will be held on Saturday December 17, 2011

HISTORY

The Santa Run began in 1994 as an idea generated by a young man looking to do something fun for the Christmas Holiday. He thought of an event modeled after the Running of the Bulls in Spain. Except instead of bulls roaming the streets, it would be Santas! The Running of the Santas (i.e., The Santa Run)! He rallied up his friends and managed to convince two of them to join him for this event. So that year, the three of them dressed in full Santa garb and hit the streets of Philadelphia hopping from bar to bar having a blast. The interest and excitement grew from there for years to come.

 

WHAT?

The Santa Run is a Huge Holiday Bar Crawl in Philadelphia where all of it's participants dress in Santa Suits or holiday gear hopping from bar to bar on buses spreading the Christmas Spirit throughout the town. It's a great way to start off your holiday. All proceeds from the event benefit a charitable event or organization. WHEN?

Saturday December 17, 2011 5:30pm-3:30am (Don't be LATE!!!)

 

WHERE?

Starting at the Sheraton in Center City at 5:30pm and continuing on to some of Philly's greatest Hot Spots. In 2010, we visited: Chickie’s & Pete’s, Mad River, McFadden’s, the Field House, and of course, Pat’s and Geno’s Steaks to top off the night! If you have a suggestion for a spot that could accommodate 80-100 people that night, send Santa an e-mail!

Hotel rooms are reserved under “Running With the Santas” or “Running of the Santas” and must be reserved by 12/2/11 to receive the $89.00 rate.

 

WHY?

To raise money for charity and to have a BLAST!
This year we have chosen the following Charity:
Ocean County NJ PBA Local 171 Fallen Officer Fun

 

COST?

$40 per person, which includes the Bus, Refreshments on the Bus and a Donation to Charity. We have reduced the cost to encourage more people to participate. Please note, ALL FUNDS in excess of event expenses go to charity. Therefore, particpants are encouraged to choose a higher level donation if they can afford to do so. Also, this year, we will do a 50/50 raffle. If you have ideas on how to raise additional funds, please e-mail Santa.
